Tiny deer mouse - what do we know

Bristol Zoo is located in England. In the city of Bristoli. It was discovered back in 1836 and is still considered one of the best in the world in terms of fauna population. The peculiarity of the Bristol Zoo is that it constantly collects rare animals around the planet. And naturally, it is engaged in increasing the population.

Deer mouse (kanchil, small fawn, Javanese fawn) is an artiodactyl mammal of the fawn family. The similarity with deer is pronounced, but due to its small size, the animal received the prefix "mouse" in its name. On average, an adult grows to the size of a Dachshund dog.

A deer mouse born at Bristol Zoo is 20 cm (8 inches) tall. The baby's gender is still unknown. But it is known for sure that this is already the second kanchil born in this zoo over the past decade.
