Privacy and Cookies

Updated: 16 October 2026.

This page explains how TeraNews uses data when you visit teranews.net. For privacy questions and requests: info@teranews.net.

What data is processed

When you open the site, the server receives technical data needed to deliver pages and protect the site: your IP address, the time of the request, the address of the requested page, and information sent by your browser. If you email us, we receive the sender's address, the message text, and any files you attach. Do not send unnecessary personal or confidential information.

Advertising and embedded third-party services may separately receive technical data about your device, browser, and interaction with their content. Further details are provided below and in the documents of the relevant providers.

Why the data is used

Technical data is used to operate and secure the site and to detect errors and abuse. Data from emails is used to respond to your inquiry. Advertising providers may use advertising data to show ads, limit repetition, measure results, and, where the required consent exists, personalize ads.

Where processing requires consent, it must be requested separately. Merely continuing to read the site does not constitute consent to non-essential advertising cookies. In other cases, the basis for processing depends on its purpose and applicable law, for example the need to respond to a request or a legitimate interest in protecting the site.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files that a site or connected service stores in your browser. Other local identifiers may serve similar purposes. Technical cookies may support administrator sign-in, security, and the retention of language preferences. Advertising cookies and identifiers are used for advertising and measurement. They do not become technically necessary merely because they help fund the site.

The period for which data remains depends on the particular file and provider: some data is deleted when a session ends, while other data is kept longer. Information about advertising purposes, providers, and periods is available in the consent-management interface, if it is available in your region. You can also view and delete stored cookies in your browser settings. Blocking technical cookies may affect some features.

Google AdSense and other advertising providers

TeraNews uses Google AdSense. Google and other advertising providers may use cookies to show ads based on previous visits to this and other sites. Google advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to show ads based on visits to sites across the internet, where such processing is permitted by applicable rules and your choices.

Google personalized advertising settings are available in My Ad Center. For more information about data processing on partner sites, see Google: How Google uses information. You should also consult the consent interface for information about providers and processing purposes. Google settings do not replace consent or a refusal made on this site.

Opting out of personalization does not necessarily mean that you will see no advertising. Depending on your region, settings, and available legal bases, other permitted types of ads may be shown. Browser settings and blockers may also affect the availability of consent controls.

External content and links

Some articles contain embedded YouTube videos. When such content loads, your browser connects to YouTube, which may process data under its own Google Privacy Policy. The availability of embedded content and the use of identifiers depend on the provider's settings and applicable consent requirements.

Links to Facebook, shops, social networks, and other sites lead to independent services. Their rules apply after you follow a link. Do not treat an ordinary link as evidence that TeraNews has access to your account with a third-party service.

Recipients, retention, and your rights

Data may be processed by technical providers that supply hosting, email delivery, and advertising. Google and other international providers may process data outside your country; information about their transfer and protection mechanisms is provided in their documents.

Data should be retained no longer than necessary for the relevant purpose and to meet applicable obligations. To ask about the retention of data relating to you, or about access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or data portability, contact info@teranews.net. The availability of a particular right depends on applicable law. Reasonable identity verification may be needed to protect data; do not send copies of identity documents unless separately and reasonably requested.

If processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it for the future without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand. Use the available consent control or write to us. You may also contact the competent personal data protection authority.
