Anker Charging Devices: Review, Feedback

The market for mobile accessories is flooded with hundreds of devices from various brands. Manufacturers offer multifunctional chargers capable of charging several mobile devices simultaneously. All this looks very attractive. But only in theory. Practically, 99% of devices cannot perform the declared functions. In our review, Anker chargers. These are premium-class devices, with prices corresponding to quality.

Why Anker

Firstly, it is a brand. The company was founded by Google engineer Steven Yang (USA). Production facilities are located in China and Vietnam. The products meet the highest quality standards. All accessories are certified and come with an official factory warranty of 12-36 months. The only thing that can deter a buyer is the price. But consumers should understand that the purchased product meets all the declared specifications. It will not burn out due to overload, will not damage the mobile device’s battery, and will not cause a fire or short circuit in the premises.

Anker Chargers: Types

The manufacturer operates in several areas. All of them relate to mobile device charging:

  • Power Banks. Portable external batteries. This category includes both mobile gadgets and uninterruptible power supplies for mobile equipment. Differences are in battery capacity, dimensions, weight, and device connection capabilities.
  • Online chargers. Devices powered from 220/110 Volts mains, as well as car chargers. They are made as HUB power supply units or cradle (dock stations).
  • Cables. Classic accessories for charging Apple and other devices (USB-C and micro-USB).
  • Other devices. The manufacturer, aiming to attract buyers, offers removable batteries and AA and AAA batteries, Bluetooth receivers, protective films, and other small items.

Among all the product range, online chargers are interesting in terms of price-quality ratio. Why not Power Banks? Because of price. In terms of durability and functionality, there are more economical solutions. The same Xiaomi is twice as cheap – there is no point in overpaying. Cable products are also expensive – there is nothing to break (either it works or it doesn’t). AA or AAA batteries are always available in stores at a good price.

Power supply units require an individual approach. Fans of computer games or database administrators will agree that in a personal computer, the main component is not the processor or the graphics card. The power supply unit (PSU) manages everything. The better the brand and class of the device, the higher the safety for the hardware and the more economical the system’s operation. Anker products can be confidently compared to the Seasonic brand. The company manufactures all components from scratch, performs assembly, testing, and provides a long-term official warranty.

Anker Cradle (Dock Station): Review, Feedback

Most consumers are already accustomed to charging mobile devices from a socket (220/110 Volts). This is considered classic. An alternative is to charge a phone or tablet on the desk via a USB cable. In terms of convenience, this is effective but not comfortable. You want to see the mobile device’s screen at eye level. That’s exactly what a cradle (dock station) is designed for. Windows Mobile smartphone owners will confirm that such a solution is very convenient. And Anker has made a smart move in this direction.

Any modern phone or tablet can be placed in the cradle. The screen is at eye level. The device charges and simultaneously displays all information on the display. It doesn’t matter if it’s an iPhone, Samsung, or Huawei. There is a dock station for each device. It’s very convenient. As an additional monitor. Power from the socket or a laptop (computer) – it doesn’t matter. Everything works and provides pleasure to the owner.

The Anker cradle for iPhone has been used in our office for a very long time. Fortunately, Apple does not change its interface design traditions – it does not tinker with the charging interface form factor. Feedback on the dock station boils down to one thing – convenient, informative, functional. There is no desire to improve the product in any way.

To avoid “internal conflicts” in the office, we purchased the “PowerWave Stand 2 Pack” set. It includes 2 dock stations for Apple products. The price is about 40 US dollars. Everything works, fast charging is available – what else is needed?

Among the disadvantages – the material of the lower panel. Yes, the rough plastic prevents slipping on the table. But it is dirty – attracts all dust. This is clearly visible in the photo – the dock station stood on the table for only 5 minutes and collected a huge amount of dust. And this is despite daily office cleaning and wiping the tables.

Fast Wireless Charging by Anker

The Wireless Charger in the form of a large disc was purchased purely out of curiosity. Many online authors claim that several devices can be charged on a large wireless charging pad. This is a fake. One charger – one device. If you need to charge two devices with one device, you need to buy PowerWave 10 Dual Pad. Our supplier did not have this device in stock, so no comments on it.

Anker Charging Devices: Review, Feedback

The Wireless Charger disc is a super cool device that supports all mobile devices, naturally with wireless charging support. It charges quickly. And there is no effect of rapid battery drain. Everything is fair. Convenient, does not take up space on the desk. After testing the wireless charging on the disc, the desire to use the classic charger included with the device completely disappeared. Why?

Multifunctional Charger by Anker

One socket and 2-3 mobile devices – a relevant problem for modern 21st-century users. You can discuss the effectiveness of ready-made solutions like USB Charger HUB from Chinese online stores for hours. But all solutions have one problem – weak charging current for mobile devices.

Devices consuming 2 Amperes cannot charge 5-30 devices. The laws of physics do not allow this. This leads to overheating, short circuits, incorrect battery charging. And the price. Chinese stores offer cheap solutions that look attractive but are fake. Claiming to connect 30 devices simultaneously, the seller hopes the user has a couple of mobile devices. Everything seems fine until a family of 3-4 people tries to charge all their devices at once.

Anker Charging Devices: Review, Feedback

Initially, Anker set a limit on the number of connected devices. Only 5-6. There is a Power Port 10 charger (for 10 devices), but it is very expensive. The manufacturer allows a couple of devices to use fast charging. The other ports are for regular charging of mobile devices.

And another thing. USB ports for connecting devices are blue and black. Do not confuse this marking with USB 2.0 and 3.0. What about data transfer speed? The blue port supports fast charging. The black port is for regular charging.

In conclusion

In terms of charging quality, Anker chargers outperform all competitors. This is a fact. The efficiency of voltage supply at minimal current complies with international ISO standards. There is no concept of line overheating or short circuit. The devices operate efficiently over a long period.

Considering that Google, Apple, Samsung, and LG recommend purchasing Anker chargers in their blogs, trust in the brand significantly increases. And this is not advertising. So far, the brand has had no failures. Not a single one. This is premium class. Only positive reviews. Have doubts? Join Disqus. Google vendors are at your disposal. By the way, it’s better to buy the brand’s products on Amazon. The price for Anker is very attractive, and counterfeits are excluded.
