The Japanese manufacturer did not delay with the presentation of their new product. The world saw the updated model of the full-frame camera Canon EOS R5 C. Its feature is support for internal recording in 8K RAW format. This is the first model in the Cinema EOS series. Apparently, we can expect thematic continuations in the form of updated camera versions.
Canon EOS R5 C – Full Frame Cinema EOS 8K
It is important to note that 8K video recording, when powered by the battery, can be done at 30 frames per second. If an external power source is connected, the recording speed in 8K format doubles – up to 60 fps. When shooting 4K resolution video, the frame rate can reach 120 fps. Despite the above parameters, continuous shooting can last for several hours. The camera has a built-in active cooling system, creating all conditions for the proper operation of the internal electronics.
A pleasant feature for professionals is the separate user modes for video and photo shooting. The interface for photos is managed by the EOS R system, and for video – Cinema EOS. This is very convenient for settings and control. Switching between modes is done by turning a 3-position control dial. The third position is manual control of settings. The camera has 13 programmable buttons.
By the way, for the relatively outdated EOS C70 model, Canon released an updated firmware. Now the camera can record in Cinema RAW Light format with 12-bit color depth. It may seem like a small detail, but Canon EOS C70 owners find it very pleasing.
