Unnecessary chatter becomes tiresome by the second episode. And many actors, in the style of Korean films, evoke disgust with their acting.
Yes, the plot of “Squid Game” is very interesting and instructive. Without going into details, one can extract useful information. For example, that spending your life on entertainment, turning away from family, is bad. Especially when the inability to pay debts affects loved ones.
Perhaps, the author initially embedded this free lesson for viewers into the series. But the director got too carried away with the superiority over the film “Battle Royale“. And it did not turn out very well. And what about the ratings — the reader might ask. The answer is simple — there are simply no analogs to the series. The viewer watches what is available. And only this factor boosts the rating of the unsuccessful series.
“Squid Game” is not the series you want to add to your collection next to the Blu-ray disc of “Battle Royale“. It is a low-quality format that you won’t want to rewatch in a couple of years.
