Gamepad review: GameSir G4S
The impressive packaging from the manufacturer will not go unnoticed. From the first moments of acquaintance with the gaming joystick, even in the box, the buyer will be filled with positive impressions. Not to mention the device itself. The gamepad fits perfectly in the hand. The grips are not just rubberized but made of very soft material. It’s comfortable to hold and press the buttons. Only the plastic L1 and R1 keys located at the edges require some skill to press.
The presence of two vibration motors is pleasing. However, they only work in some PC games and almost all applications on other platforms. This is strange. Perhaps the manufacturer will fix this issue in future firmware updates.
The foldable smartphone holder comes with an additional clamp. The mechanism for folding the mount is somewhat poorly organized. When closed, it covers the Clear and Turbo buttons. Another flaw is the storage of removable components of the gamepad. There is a slot for the USB receiver (under the Home button), but the additional clamp for the smartphone must be stored separately.
Testing is a separate story. The GameSir G4S joystick interacts well with Windows-based computers and Android TV-Box. However, it reacts unfriendly to attempts to connect to other platforms. The included connection instructions do not contain detailed information on device pairing. Fortunately, the Internet is available. Users actively share key combinations for connecting the gamepad to any device on forums.
Since there are no similar products with such functionality in the market at a price point up to $40, the joystick looks attractive. In terms of price, technical specifications, and ease of use. But minor flaws prevent calling the GameSir G4S gamepad the best product of 2020. For its price, the joystick is excellent. The choice is up to the buyer.
