Honor 20 – A Stunning Smartphone for Multimedia

Chasing performance in AnTuTu and megapixels in the camera block is beginning to fade. Users have come to the conclusion that the lifespan of smartphones has significantly shortened. Literally, after a year, you need to change your device just because it’s fashionable. Apparently, this trend has been imposed on us by the Apple brand. But, one thing is to get a technologically advanced device with some features (iPhone). Another is to observe the same Android with identical programs, only amazed by the results of synthetic tests. You need a decent smartphone – Honor 20 will solve all problems.

Since the release of this smartphone on the market, exactly one year has passed. And Honor 20, as after the first turn-on, delights the user with its performance and ease of use. This indicates that the Chinese released a gadget of excellent quality. And I really want the Honor brand to delight its fans with equally reliable devices.

Package Contents of Honor 20

The packaging is classic for all Honor products. A non-standard box with the smartphone, USB Type-C cable, power adapter, and SIM tray ejector pin. There is also an adapter from USB to Jack for wired headset connection. Some commercial versions of Honor 20 include a silicone protective case.

As practice shows, the user needs only the phone and the charger with its cable. Everything else, along with the warranty card and receipt, is packed into the box and stored for a long time.

Design of Honor 20

The Honor company’s advertising videos constantly emphasize love for experiments. But with this smartphone, it didn’t turn out very well. Honor 20 can only be purchased in two colors – black and blue. Even the fact that the body plays all the colors of the rainbow at different angles did not add any bonuses for the manufacturer. But this is the only visible flaw; beyond that, only positive emotions.

The body itself is made of glass, with an aluminum frame, which is also the main part of the device. It’s very pleasing that the bezels around the display are minimal. The front camera is shifted to the corner. It’s not the most ideal placement, but this solution adds more informativeness to the screen. After just a couple of hours of using the Honor 20, you forget about this cutout altogether.

On the top panel, there is an ambient light sensor and noise suppression system. At the junction between the frame and the display, there is a grille for the earpiece. There is a notification indicator. On the left side, there is a SIM card tray. On the right side, there are volume and power buttons. At the bottom, there are speakers, a microphone, and a USB Type-C port.

Display, Interface, Performance – User Experience of Honor 20

The bright and vivid picture on the smartphone’s display indicates that the manufacturer installed a high-quality IPS matrix. Compared to AMOLED, the Honor 20 screen excellently reproduces shades at different brightness settings. The only thing that might be unsettling is the cool color temperature – a noticeable cold hue. By default, the color temperature of the Honor 20 screen is 8000 K. But by going into display settings, you can set warmer colors, for example, 6500 K. Overall, the display customization features are very pleasing.

The user interface of the phone may be for enthusiasts. Initially, you want to meet the developer and ask many questions. But after just a couple of days, you quickly get used to the Honor 20 and no longer understand why other manufacturers implement things so poorly.

Performance-wise, the phone is excellent. Not a flagship, but it’s clear that the device is aimed at efficiency for the next 3-4 years. This is evidenced by the chip working at the level of Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 and 6 GB of RAM. Interestingly, the video adapter in the phone is quite powerful (Mali-G76 MP10). You can confidently dive into resource-intensive games, even at medium quality settings.

Honor 20 Smartphone: Multimedia

There are some flaws. The built-in speakers are very loud but sound terrible in quality. There are issues with low and mid frequencies. However, the sound in the headset is excellent. The contrast is noticeable on any track. The same applies to wireless Bluetooth headphones – sound quality is superb.

Cameras in Honor smartphones have never been problematic. Considering it’s the same Huawei. Photography enthusiasts shooting landscapes during the day will enjoy HDR mode. Nature shots with HDR are flawless. The Honor 20 handles portraits well and does not blur photos in motion. However, night photography disappointed. Shooting handheld, even with correct settings, the phone does not perform well. But if you fix the device firmly and enable automatic shooting mode, the situation improves significantly.

Honor 20 Battery Life and Conclusions

The most pleasant aspect of all Chinese smartphones is their autonomy. The technologically advanced Honor 20 can easily last a couple of days without recharging. Maybe even longer. And this is with automatic brightness, GSM, 4G, and Wi-Fi enabled.

In conclusion, it can be confidently said that the phone is worth its money and will remain popular in the global market for a long time. The Honor 20 smartphone has been on the market for over a year, and it is still in demand among buyers. And even the price does not want to fall. You can purchase the device here.
