Lost Phone Search and Return Service

Kazakhstan’s mobile operator Beeline surprised its users with a new service. The search and return service for lost phones called BeeSafe attracted public attention. From now on, the operator can track the location of a smartphone, remotely lock it, erase information to factory settings, and even activate a siren.

To use the service, the user needs to log into their personal account on the official operator’s website (beeline.kz). The service menu offers several ready-made solutions for remote management of the mobile device.

However, to activate the service, you will need to order the appropriate Beeline tariff. Currently, there are two tariffs available: Standard and Premium.

The “Standard” package, costing 22 tenge per day, includes remote phone locking and displaying contact information on the screen. Additionally, it offers showing the smartphone on the map of Kazakhstan, deleting personal information, and activating a siren.

The “Premium” package, costing 27 tenge, includes mobile operator insurance. In case of losing the smartphone, Beeline commits to pay out 15,000 tenge. Naturally, this is conditional on reporting the theft within 14 days through the operator via the MySafety data center. The MySafety company has a good reputation for working with blocking stolen bank cards, documents, and keys.

The service is expected to appeal to youth and elderly people, as statistics show that these groups most often lose or forget their mobile devices.

As for the service itself, the operator did not provide details regarding the contract between the smartphone owner and Beeline. Considering the cost of the service and the phones, the compensation aspect is unclear. Additionally, there are no clear distinctions made between losing a smartphone and theft. This fact often motivates users to subscribe to such services.
