This is a marvel of Chinese manufacturing, the Blackview BV6800 Pro 4G Phablet smartphone, which was included in our review by chance. One of our colleagues, on his way home, told an interesting story. Approaching the entrance, a black brick fell right in front of him. It bounced almost a meter high, fell flat, and settled down. Leaning down, the colleague saw an LCD screen with an unfinished call and heard someone’s voice, which was “halting” and trying to find out what happened.
Looking up, he saw a technician in overalls hanging on ropes from the roof of a 9-story building, right on the 5th floor. An air conditioner repairman. The man was waving his hands and asking to bring the phone to apartment 91. This story became the reason for reviewing the intriguing “armor phone,” which not only survived the fall but also continued to perform its function without a scratch.

The Blackview BV6800 Pro 4G Phablet smartphone is clearly not for entertainment. It’s not worth trying to run resource-intensive games on it. But as a workhorse, the phone is suitable. The price of 250 US dollars is not an obstacle here. The smartphone is an excellent solution for work in tough conditions or for extreme sports.
Children, elderly parents, hunters, fishermen – the list of users is limitless. A decent camera on a Sony chip, a pleasant body, an excellent IPS display. There is even a fingerprint scanner and a modern USB Type-C port.
The most important criterion in a phone is not IP68. It is a mistake to call “armor” devices with this marking. Full protection from moisture and dust does not make a smartphone shockproof. Another interesting indicator is MIL-STD-810G. Briefly, this is an American military standard. This marking is applied to all radio electronics intended for use in emergency conditions. For the Blackview BV6800 Pro 4G Phablet, it means protection against mechanical impact up to 20G in operational condition.
The only drawback of this device, according to an active user, is the absence of a hook on the body for attachment. Working in extreme conditions (at height, for example), it would be nice to attach the smartphone with a carabiner to a belt or backpack. Otherwise, the device is very reliable and functional. It can even be used as a PowerBank – charging other devices via USB from its capacious battery.
