In the budget segment of 5G-supported smartphones, there is a new addition – Vivo Y31s. The feature of this gadget is that it stands out among competitors for its recognition. After all, it is a representative of the cool Chinese brand BBK Electronics. Besides an attractive price, the cheapest 5G phone attracts attention with its design. Additionally, the device has impressive, for its class, technical specifications. You shouldn’t expect gaming capabilities from the smartphone. But it will easily handle other applications.

What prospects does the Vivo Y31s smartphone have?
The most pleasant aspect is that the manufacturer based it on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 chipset. Although it doesn’t shine with high performance, it has very important operational characteristics for a budget device:
- The Snapdragon X51 5G modem is installed. The feature is that this chip (among budget models) is considered the most stable for high-speed data transfer. The owner of the Vivo Y31s smartphone will feel like a king of wireless highways in 5G networks.
- Low power consumption. Don’t be fooled by the fact that Snapdragon 480 is produced using 8 nm technology. Despite its characteristics, even at 2 GHz, the processor will maximize battery efficiency.
The declared screen refresh rate of 90 Hz is cool. But the budget Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 chipset supports 120 Hz. BBK could have been more generous. The cheapest 5G phone – Vivo Y31s could have cost $10 more. But then the owner could proudly tell everyone that his display operates at 120 Hz. A small detail, but very pleasant.
The drawbacks include the main camera. The elegant camera module design was borrowed from the Vivo V20. It’s unclear what camera modules are installed in the Vivo Y31s. They could have, for example, removed this module altogether and made a neat camera like in the Vivo Y11 model. This would have benefited the smartphone’s design.
