Winter tests a car: tyre pressure drops along with the temperature, the battery holds its charge less well, the windows are covered in ice in the morning, and the cabin takes a long time to warm up. We picked six winter car products from AliExpress that sell in their thousands and have ratings of almost 97% or higher. They run from the most essential to the nice little extras.

Safety and starting
1. LEIBOO cordless tyre inflator
When air cools it contracts, so the pressure you set in warm weather drops noticeably by the time frosts arrive. An underinflated tyre grips the road less well and wears faster, so in winter it is worth checking pressure more often, ideally in the morning on cold tyres. The LEIBOO inflator works without a cable to the cigarette lighter socket, has a digital display and stops automatically at a set pressure. You can also use it on motorbike or bicycle tyres. It is the best-selling item in this roundup, with more than 15 thousand orders.

Windows and visibility
2. Windscreen cover for snow and sun
The simplest way to avoid scraping ice in the morning is to cover the windscreen with a cover in the evening. In the morning you lift it off together with the snow and frost, and the glass stays clean. In summer the same cover protects the interior from the sun. It is waterproof and fastens in the doors. Put it on dry glass, otherwise the fabric can freeze to it.

3. Water-repellent glass treatment, 100 g
A rain repellent creates a water-shedding layer on the glass, so drops of sleet roll off at speed without being smeared by the wipers. According to the listing, this product also removes oily film and reduces misting. It must be applied to clean, dry glass, so it is easier to do in a warm garage or at a car wash than out in the cold.

4. Anti-fog film for wing mirrors
In winter, wing mirrors quickly get covered in droplets and frost, and without heated mirrors visibility at dusk suffers. A clear film on the mirror repels water and reduces glare. The set contains two pieces, one for each side. It is the cheapest item in this roundup and people buy it in their thousands: more than 4,500 orders.

Warmth in the cabin
5. USB heated seat cushion
If your car has no heated seats, you end up sitting on an icy seat while the engine warms up. A heated cushion solves that problem: it has four temperature levels and runs from USB, so you can use it in the car and in the office. Bear in mind that the USB port in older cars is weak, so for proper heating it is better to plug the cushion into a powerful adapter in the cigarette lighter socket.

6. 12V 120W car heater
A compact heater with a fan sits on the dashboard and points at the windscreen to clear misting and ice from your field of view more quickly. The base rotates through 360 degrees. Keep your expectations realistic: 120 W is enough to defrost the patch of glass in front of the driver, but not to warm the whole cabin like the car’s built-in heater. And do not leave it on with the engine off, or you will drain the battery.

Winter checklist for your car
The products in this roundup work better if the car as a whole is ready for the cold. Before the first frosts, it is worth running through a short list:
- Battery. If it is more than four or five years old and the car already struggled to start in autumn, have it checked at a garage before the cold arrives.
- Screenwash. Replace summer water in the reservoir with an antifreeze screenwash, otherwise the nozzles and tubes will freeze on the very first night.
- Wiper blades. Rubber that leaves streaks gets even stiffer in the cold. Rain repellent reduces the load on the blades but does not replace them.
- Tyre pressure. After changing to winter tyres, check the pressure on cold wheels and compare it with the label on the door pillar.
- Boot kit. A brush, scraper, gloves, tow rope and a charged power bank will help if you get stuck in traffic or in snow.
What to buy first
If your budget is limited, start with the inflator and the windscreen cover: the first looks after your safety, the second saves ten minutes every morning. The rain repellent and the mirror film cost less than a cup of coffee and noticeably improve visibility in slush.
When ordering, check delivery times: winter products sell out quickly before the cold sets in, and parcels take longer than usual during the sales season. Prices are as of the publication date and may change, especially during the 11.11 promotions.
