After the presentation of the iPhone 11 smartphone, Apple fans no longer expected new products from the brand in 2019. And they were wrong. The company announced the launch of the Apple iPad 7th Generation with Retina Display. And that’s not all.
Apple enthusiasts seeking flawless products are offered to acquire the Smart Keyboard multimedia keyboard. The price of 159 US dollars may seem high, but the investment is worth it. This is because the manufacturer has made significant changes to iPadOS. From now on, the tablet can replace a laptop for the user. But, more on that in order.
Apple iPad 7th Generation with Retina Display
The tablet with a 10.2-inch screen is built on the A10 Fusion chip. The quad-core processor promises users unprecedented performance in applications and games. And if the power seems insufficient, the integrated co-processor M10 on the chip comes into play.
Nothing is said about the amount of RAM, but judging by the list of features, the device will have at least 6-8 GB of RAM. However, the prices for ready configurations have been announced immediately. The Apple iPad with a 32 GB storage costs 329 USD, and the 128 GB version will be 459 dollars.
The new iPad is available in three color options: gray, gold, and silver. As with previous models, there are configurations with Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + Cellular. The latter has a slot for a SIM card for 4G networks and an antenna.
For the novelty, protective cases are available in specialized Apple stores for 39 USD. And for customers ordering tablets online, a free service has been added — engraving according to the customer’s drawing.
iPadOS: Update
The operating system supports working with USB drives and memory cards (via an adapter). The list of applications now includes a file manager supporting SMB, various archives, and PDF creation. The update added support for keyboard shortcuts, improved handling of text files, and expanded functionality when working with Apple Pencil.
Owners of previous tablet models are not left out. All the mentioned features will appear on any version of the iPad after updating to iPadOS. However, Apple has not announced the list of supported devices. Although, during the presentation of the Apple iPad 7th Generation with Retina Display, iPad mini, iPad Air, and iPad Pro were mentioned.
And there was also charity. Apple’s corporate policy remains unchanged. A special price for the updated iPad 7th Generation for U.S. schools is set at 299 USD.
