The announcement of the Apple TV 4K set-top box for television was quiet and unnoticed. The manufacturer did not boast about their new product, leaving that role to brand enthusiasts. However, many consumers reacted quite strangely to the announcement.
Apple TV 4K with SoC A12 Bionic Chip
Let’s start with the SoC A12 Bionic processor, on which the iPhone XR and XS smartphones are based. Buyers doubted the chip’s performance and began to complain to the manufacturer.
In reality, things are not as bad as they seem. On the contrary, this chip is too powerful for a TV box. Compared to a smartphone, the set-top box needs less performance. And even on the SoC A12 Bionic, all top games will run at maximum settings.
By the way, the manufacturer announced support for Dolby Vision at 60 fps. Also, 4K resolution with High Frame Rate HDR (High Dynamic Range). That is, you can shoot videos in maximum quality settings on an iPhone 12, and watch the footage in original quality on a 4K TV through the set-top box.
Apple TV 4K: Ultra-Modern Siri Remote
The remote control looks really strange, but the functionality is at a high level. The device panel features the most popular buttons. Everything else is replaced with voice control. Siri assistant is supported not in all countries, but Apple is working on expanding coverage.
The Apple TV 4K 2021 runs on tvOS. By default, the TV box has built-in services such as Apple TV+, Apple Music, Apple Fitness+, Apple Arcade, and AirPlay. The prices are a bit confusing:

- The price of Apple TV 4K with 64 GB RAM is $199.
- The Siri Remote control costs an additional $59.
