The buzzed-about trailer for the film Battle for Earth turned out to be the only pleasant moment for viewers from American director Rupert Wyatt. The premiere of the sci-fi thriller around the world showed that people are not ready for such films.
Battle for Earth: A Strange Plot
It might seem that an alien invasion and the conquest of the planet is an excellent plot for science fiction fans. But something went wrong. Specifically, the complete lack of impressive special effects undermined the entire plot of the film. Not surprisingly – constant semi-darkness on the screen and flashes of white teeth with whites of the eyes. Did the director really spend 25 million dollars of the budget on all this?
Guerrilla squads – a separate story. The director did not bother to tell the audience about the formation of resistance movements against the alien race. He simply showed characters running separately, leaving it to the viewer to guess who they are and what their role is.
The aliens in the film Battle for Earth look somewhat funny. Couldn’t they have hired an artist to come up with something original? Some silly clichés that just irritate. Especially considering that almost the entire plot takes place in utter darkness.
The propaganda of tolerance, the extraction of Earth’s resources – as many viewers note in their reviews, the message is clearly political. Moreover, for Russian-speaking viewers, the aliens are portrayed as the USA. Overall, it turned out to be not an action film as expected, but a strange and predictable trash.
