Good wireless earbuds no longer cost half the price of a smartphone. On AliExpress you can find models for under £10 that hold a connection well and don’t fall apart after a month, and for under £20 you can already get decent noise cancelling. The problem is elsewhere: the catalogue has thousands of near-identical listings, and half of them use photos borrowed from well-known brands.
We worked backwards and looked at numbers, not adverts. Only models with thousands of real sales and at least 95% positive reviews made the list. Prices are as of 15 October and may change, especially ahead of the 11.11 sale.

How we chose
- Sales. We only took products with several thousand orders. A small seller can fake a dozen reviews, but not ten thousand purchases.
- Ratings. The cut-off is 95% positive. Below that, complaints start about dead earbuds and charging cases that stop charging.
- Brand. Lenovo, Baseus and QCY sell through official stores, which means a proper warranty and clear firmware updates.
- Price. We split the list into three tiers: under £10, under £20 and under £45.
Under £10: just for listening
Lenovo LP40 Pro
The best seller in our selection, with almost 30 thousand orders. These are classic open-fit earbuds without silicone tips, with Bluetooth 5.4 and touch controls. Don’t expect miracles from the sound: there is less bass than in in-ear models, and there is no noise cancelling at all. On the plus side, they are light, pair quickly and don’t put pressure on your ears if you wear them all day.
Who they suit: people who listen to podcasts and YouTube, take calls, and won’t lose sleep if one earbud goes missing on the bus.

Under £20: the most interesting range
Value for money is best here. For £12 to £14 you can already get active noise cancelling, the latest Bluetooth 6.0 and decent microphones.
Baseus Bass BS2 Lite
In-ear earbuds with Bluetooth 6.0 and two microphones in each earbud. Baseus puts the emphasis on bass, as the name of the series suggests. A good option if the LP40 Pro sounds too flat to you and you don’t want to pay extra for noise cancelling.

Baseus Bass EP10 NC
Almost the same price, but with active noise cancelling. The manufacturer claims up to 43 dB, which in practice means the rumble of the Tube and the hum of office air conditioning fade well into the background. You will still hear voices nearby, which is normal for this class. If you pick only one model under £20, this is the one we would look at: 17 thousand sales speak for themselves.

QCY T13 ANC
QCY has sold the T13 in several versions for a long time, and it is one of the most proven lines on AliExpress. The ANC version has four microphones, so the person on the other end hears you better than on most budget models. Bluetooth is 5.3 rather than 6.0, but you won’t notice the difference in everyday use.

Baseus BC1: for sport
These are open-ear earbuds: they don’t go into the ear but sit on a hook and direct sound towards the ear canal. You hear everything around you. For running outdoors, cycling and the gym that is more of an advantage, since you can hear traffic and your trainer. For the Tube or a train, this format is not suitable at all.

Under £45: near-flagships
QCY MeloBuds Pro
Hybrid noise cancelling of up to 46 dB and Hi-Res audio support. In feel, these are neighbours of earbuds that cost two to three times more in ordinary shops. The old price in the listing is well over £75, but take it with a pinch of salt: on AliExpress, “discounts” of 50 to 60% are almost always there.

QCY MeloBuds N70
The most advanced model on the list. Adaptive noise cancelling adjusts to the surrounding noise on its own, and there is Bluetooth 6.0 and the LDAC codec. LDAC only matters if you have an Android phone that supports it and you listen to music in high quality. It doesn’t work on iPhone, and in that case there is little point paying extra for the N70 over the MeloBuds Pro.

What to check before you buy
- Product variant. One listing often covers several versions: with and without noise cancelling, different colours, sometimes even different models. Look carefully at which variant is selected, as the price can differ by a factor of two.
- Store. It is better to buy from the brand’s official store (Baseus Official Store, QCY Official Store and so on). Copies with similar names turn up all the time.
- Delivery. The Choice badge usually means faster delivery and free returns.
- The sale. If the purchase isn’t urgent, wait for 11.11. On that day prices on popular electronics usually drop a further 10 to 20%, and coupons appear.
In short: what to buy
If you need something simple and cheap with no demands on sound: Lenovo LP40 Pro. Best balance of price and features: Baseus Bass EP10 NC. For outdoor sport: Baseus BC1. If sound matters and you want a near-flagship at a sensible price: QCY MeloBuds Pro, and for Android with LDAC: MeloBuds N70.
We will keep updating the list: AliExpress prices change every week, and if a model gets much cheaper or disappears from sale, we will say so.
