The Japanese manufacturer did not delay with the presentation of its new product. The world saw an updated model of the Canon EOS R5 C full-frame camera. Its feature is the support for internal video recording in 8K RAW format. This is the first model in the Cinema EOS series. Apparently, we are waiting for thematic continuations in the form of updated versions of cameras.
Canon EOS R5 C - Full Frame Cinema EOS 8K
It is important to note here that video in 8K resolution, when running on battery power, can be shot at a frequency of 30 frames per second. If you connect an external power supply, the recording speed in 8K format will double - 60 fps. When shooting video in 4K resolution, the frequency can reach 120 fps. Regardless of the above settings, continuous shooting can be performed for several hours. The camera has a built-in active cooling system, creating all the conditions for the normal operation of the built-in electronics.
A nice moment for professionals - separate custom modes for video and photography. The EOS R system is responsible for the photo interface, Cinema EOS is responsible for the video. This is very convenient, both for settings and for management. Switching between modes is done by turning the 3-way command dial. The third position is the manual control of the settings. The camera has 13 programmable buttons.
By the way, for the relatively outdated EOS C70, Canon has released an updated firmware. The camera can now shoot in Cinema RAW Light format at 12-bit color depth. It seems to be a trifle, but the owners of the Canon EOS C70 are very pleased.
