The Huawei company’s branch – the Honor brand, has already shown the world that it is capable of releasing great smartphones. An example is the Honor V40, which managed to combine excellent performance, convenient functionality, and an attractive price in one device. Now, the Chinese brand offers to buy the Honor Pad 7. This is the first tablet released under the logo of a very young but highly popular trademark. By the way, the model HONOR Pad V6 is also a tablet of the same brand, released earlier. But its creation was influenced by the “Huawei hand,” so it is not the first!
Honor Pad 7 – a great start for a newcomer
And it would be fine if the Chinese targeted the budget segment. Maybe it would even be better – to spin the “sales wheel” while competitors are still dormant. But the Honor Pad 7 is aimed at the mid-price segment. The hardware is so impressive that many well-known brands risk losing customers because of it:
- 10.1-inch IPS display with FullHD+ resolution (1920×1200) complemented by TÜV Rheinland eye protection certification. For those unaware, this technology can switch the colored image to shades of gray – useful for reading books, for example.
- MediaTek MT8786 processor. The marking doesn’t say much, but it’s roughly comparable to Qualcomm 630 in performance. So, a mid-range processor, not top-tier or budget.
- 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. Plus, support for SD cards up to 512 GB.
- Android 10 operating system with the proprietary Magic UI.
- 5100 mAh battery with up to 18 hours of autonomy (70% brightness).
- Weight 460 grams, thickness 7.5 mm.
- The price of the Honor Pad 7 is $260 (Wi-Fi version) and $290 (LTE version).
Who might be interested in such a tablet
Definitely, the low cost of any version is a pleasant point here. In fact, many Chinese gadgets with hard-to-pronounce brand names have similar prices. However, Honor products look more attractive in this context. At least because the trademark values its reputation with consumers.
Buying the Honor Pad 7 in the initial release is very profitable. Its price is significantly reduced. Based on the first sales of mobile devices, the company’s marketers should draw conclusions. If there is a surge of interest, it means the price can be confidently raised. Look at Huawei phones – they are banned in many countries and do not have Google services. But these are truly technologically advanced gadgets that will “wipe the floor” with all competitors.
And Honor Pad 7 is awaiting similar success if the tablet demonstrates its functionality and reliability. The gadgets will definitely attract schoolchildren and kids, which was the initial target of the manufacturer. For example, the monochrome reading mode or the ability to split the screen into 2 or 4 parts. The tablet would benefit from a more powerful processor, which could also make it suitable for gaming.
