Chinese brand Mechanical Revolution has introduced its version of a gaming laptop. The new Jiaolong 5 features an AMD Ryzen 7 (7735HS) processor and mid-range discrete graphics. Interestingly, the price is $700, along with a rich set of gaming “features”.
Mechanical Revolution Jiaolong 5 Laptop – Specifications
The AMD Ryzen 7735HS processor in the laptop handles everything. Firstly, it is very powerful, and secondly – energy-efficient. Thanks to 8 cores and 16 threads, it guarantees excellent multitasking. The cores operate at a frequency of 3.2-4.75 GHz. The third-level cache is 16 MB, 2 MB for the second level, and 512 KB for the first level. Manufactured using 6nm technology, the processor has a TDP of 35-54 W (depending on core frequency).
It’s hard to call the graphics card gaming-oriented. A discrete NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 is used. Overall, it can handle all existing demanding games on medium settings. However, there are questions for the manufacturer – it was pointless to install such a high-end display. The 15.6-inch matrix with a resolution of 1920×1080 (Full HD) has a refresh rate of 144 Hz and supports AMD FreeSync technology. On medium graphics settings, it’s unlikely to achieve the visual effects supported by the display.
Another pleasant aspect is the modern type of RAM. DDR5 modules are installed. The capacity is 16 GB, expandable up to 64 GB. The permanent storage is a 512 GB SSD, which can also be upgraded by the user. The manufacturer did not skimp on wired and wireless interfaces. There is 2.5 Gbps Ethernet, HDMI 2.1, USB 3.1 Gen1, USB 2.0 Type-A and Type-C. There is a headphone jack and a card reader.
The case is made of magnesium-aluminum alloy. This is an excellent addition to the active cooling system. The weight of the Mechanical Revolution Jiaolong 5 laptop is 1.96 kg, with a thickness of 24 mm.
