HMD Global, the company owning the Nokia brand, has finally found its place in the smartphone market. After long wandering in the mid-range and premium segments, the manufacturer has returned to its roots. And it’s the right move, as most consumers worldwide recognize the Nokia brand as a durable and affordable phone. The previous year, 2021, showed that gadgets in the budget segment are in high demand. But this doesn’t mean the manufacturer will relax in terms of adopting new technologies.
Nokia Finds Its Niche in the Budget Segment
Experience shows that it is the lower price segment that sets the direction for more expensive brands. If it weren’t for Xiaomi and Huawei, we would still be happy with smartphones with 3-4 GB of RAM, like on the iPhone. The new Nokia 1.4 promises to invigorate the budget smartphone market. Priced at less than 100 euros, the phone will feature a fingerprint scanner. It will be complemented by a full HD+ display with a 6.5-inch diagonal.
However, high performance should not be expected. The manufacturer has significantly cut the phone’s capabilities. Only 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, and a quad-core Qualcomm QM215 processor. On the other hand, it features a 4000 mAh battery and a dual camera with 8 and 2 MP. Overall, for calls, quick messages, email, and photography, the Nokia 1.4 is an excellent choice. A simple phone with a large screen and a fingerprint scanner at a very affordable price. Such a smartphone can be bought for parents or children going to school.
