Portable Speaker TRONSMART T7 – Review

The speaker is made of durable and pleasant-to-touch plastic. Rubber elements are present on the protective covers of the speakers and the wired connection slot. There is an adjustable LED backlight. The speaker can be controlled manually or via an app (iOS or Android).

The declared 2.1 system sounds very good. A separate subwoofer (on the side of the speaker) is present, with its phase inverter extending to the other side of the device. The low-frequency drivers are symmetrically installed, projecting sound outward, located near the phase inverter. Even at maximum volume, there are no interference issues, but there are frequency dips.

The best sound quality at maximum volume can be achieved at no more than 80% power, which is already quite good. The declared power is 30 W, which is likely PMPO – maximum power. In RMS standard, this is about 3 W. In practice, the speaker sounds decent, comparable to a Hi-Fi system of 5-8 W, with clear separation of high, mid, and low frequencies.

The control of the TRONSMART T7 is done via an app for iOS or Android. Alternatively, you can connect the device to a smartphone via Bluetooth, and everything will work fine. An AUX input would be a nice addition for greater autonomy. It’s good that the manufacturer installed a modern Bluetooth module version 5.3. Maintaining quality, the speaker can receive signals up to 18 meters away from the source in a straight line. Indoors, the signal passes through 2 solid walls up to 9 meters.

Another advantage is the ability to connect multiple TRONSMART T7 speakers into a multimedia system. The manufacturer claims the possibility of creating a stereo system. In fact, you can do more with several speakers, but for this, an app is required; otherwise, all speakers will play independently.

I would like to see synchronization capabilities with portable speakers from other brands. Such functionality is not available. Our favorite JBL Charge 4 could not be connected to the TRONSMART T7. By the way, compared to JBL Charge 4, the TRONSMART model lags in sound quality. Apparently, JBL uses higher-quality drivers. And this is for a 2.0 system that does not have a dedicated subwoofer.
