Apparently, the Korean giant Samsung has run out of ideas for expanding its business. The company announced the launch of a cloud gaming service for smart TVs with the Tizen OS. This would seem very attractive if one did not know how such innovations typically end for the South Korean company.
Samsung tries to take a piece of someone else’s pie
It’s best to start with the fact that the company is good at creating equipment and gadgets that gain fans worldwide. But as soon as the Samsung brand ventures into someone else’s innovations, everything immediately collapses before your eyes. Just remember the “Bada” project or the plagiarism of “YotaPhone”.
The cloud gaming service will end in a similar failure for the Samsung brand. As the Korean company will be betrayed again by greed. All these ideas proposed by the manufacturer are aimed not at user convenience, but at financial gain. And even now, it can be observed how Samsung’s internal team is reluctant to share information about the project implementation.
Carry your load so you don’t fall while walking
Just look at the South Korean brand’s smart TVs, which lack enough performance even to play 4K movies. Not to mention launching Android games. Meanwhile, Xiaomi or Sony chipsets easily reproduce large MKV files. It’s all simple to explain — Samsung did not want to increase system performance for free. Want the service? Pay for the TV set-top box.
And the same will happen with the cloud gaming service. You will need to buy special gamepads, as standard ones definitely won’t fit. You will need some kind of demodulator in the form of a set-top box to protect the user from hacking. And the games themselves will cost as much as the equivalents on XBOX or Sony PlayStation.
