Smartwatches and fitness bracelets are not as popular as we think

Smart gadgets that burst into our lives a few years ago are losing interest year after year. Manufacturers constantly expand functionality and come up with new designs. But buyers are not rushing to the store for new products. Even affordable prices do not influence this behavioral factor. Smart watches and bracelets are simply not interesting to most users.

Smart watches and fitness bracelets – limited capabilities

Tracking medical indicators and multimedia is great and convenient. But is there any point in buying a gadget that needs to be constantly charged and linked to a smartphone? For example, our favorite brand Xiaomi has not yet managed to solve the problem of stable connection to the phone after disconnection. Messenger notifications are very convenient, but people with poor eyesight cannot read all these messages. And smart watches Huawei, in sports mode, work for a couple of days on a single charge.

Of course, there are exceptions – Apple Watch, but their price is not affordable for everyone. Moreover, to operate smart watches, you need to own Apple mobile devices. And that’s additional expenses. And a logical question arises – why do we even need these fitness bracelets and smart watches if they irritate more than they provide benefits?

The era of mechanical watches is returning

Just look at any business magazine from print edition to understand what is happening in the world. Entrepreneurs, actors, politicians, and other members of high society prefer classics. And not necessarily on the wrist to display Patek Philippe or Breguet. Mechanical watches from Seiko, Tissot, and even Orient are common.

In other words, all these smart wrist gadgets are not as interesting to users as manufacturers try to impose through their advertising. It’s understandable for sellers – a new product always carries something interesting and unusual. But most buyers see only watches that need to be constantly charged. And even the appearance of the coolest Apple Watch will never be more sophisticated and richer than ordinary mechanical watches.

Smart watches or mechanical classics – which is better

In terms of durability, mechanics will always lead. Moreover, the declared service life for smart watches can be easily extended by an extra zero, to achieve durability even for the most budget mechanical watches. Mechanics do not depreciate as much in price, and some watches only appreciate on the market year after year. If you are already buying watches for daily wear, it’s better to prefer classic mechanisms.

Fitness bracelets and smart watches are a temporary phenomenon. In a year or two, manufacturers will focus on implementing something new and more interesting. Currently, the topic of smart glasses is actively promoted. But this is also a kind of unclear step into an unexplored world, which the buyer does not fully understand. One thing is to have glasses like Tony Stark (Iron Man). Another is to get a gadget for reading messages from a smartphone. These are completely different technologies, is our world really so advanced in technology?
