SMSL DP5 is a stationary network player for playing audio files of all formats from various sources. It is designed for connecting headphones or as part of a speaker system. It can also be used for playing sound on active speakers.
Overview of the SMSL DP5 Network Audio Player
The new music streamer from SMSL, the DP5, is positioned as a more advanced successor to the DP3. In addition to several improvements and refinements, the number of outputs has been expanded. XLR has been added to the analog outputs, and I2S to the digital ones.
The device is managed via Hiby Link technology (Hiby Music app). The software can be easily installed on any modern device from the native marketplace. As a bonus, the owner gets an advanced music player for their phone or tablet.
Apple enthusiasts have been provided with AirPlay support for direct data streaming over Wi-Fi. Android device owners are not left without alternatives. The aforementioned Hiby Music app with similar functionality is available.
There are many ways to transmit data to the device — a “wagon and a small cart”. It supports standard connections with NAS via DLNA (also known as UpNp) and SAMBA. It supports flash drives with FAT and NTFS systems up to 4TB. Storage can be a SD (TF) card, USB flash drive, or hard drive.
