In the budget segment (up to $300), Chinese manufacturer introduced the Honor X40 smartphone. You might not have noticed the new device, but the screen specifications caught attention. The manufacturer installed a quite expensive display. A full analog of their flagship models. However, the electronic components are weak. This raises questions.
Perhaps, marketers listened to owners of budget smartphones. Everyone wants a gadget cheaper and with a vivid display. Here, the Honor X40 meets these requirements. The only issue is the screen size. Nearly 7 inches – that’s already a “shovel”. A smartphone for people with poor vision – grandparents. Then it’s clear – the new device has a chance to outcompete rivals in the budget segment.

Advantages and disadvantages of the Honor X40 smartphone
Certainly, the price for a gadget with such a gorgeous screen is a clear plus for the new device. Even many brand flagships do not have such specifications or come close. Photos, videos, and text will definitely be readable in any lighting and in original quality.
A rather interesting approach to the smartphone platform. Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 does not boast high performance. But it consumes little energy. This is a plus for those who do not want to monitor battery charge daily. Estimated battery life is about 3 days. Or even a week if used as intended.
But the volume of RAM and storage is confusing. Very much for a budget device. Even more expensive Samsung devices have lower specs. Plus, the manufacturer implemented a swap file on UFS 2.2 storage of 7 GB. This is convenient for resource-intensive games, allowing textures to load faster. But the chipset and GPU will not allow playing properly on Ultra settings. It’s a bit of a vicious circle.
