With household appliances, even the most high-quality and expensive ones, sometimes face various issues. This often happens with washing machines, as they are very complex equipment. One of the most common problems is the residue of laundry powder or other cleaning agents in the dispenser drawer. After washing, when you remove the laundry, some powder remains in the drawer. What is the reason?
When the cause can be found and fixed independently
There can be several reasons, and here we will focus only on the most common ones and consider how to eliminate this problem without contacting a repair service for washing machines in Lviv.
- Use of low-quality powder. Despite being quite expensive and from a well-known brand, it may be produced with violations of technology. As a result, it can clump in the drawer or not fully dissolve. Also, pay attention to the expiration date.
- Incorrect dosage. Sometimes housewives do not pay attention to how much powder is needed for proper washing. If more than necessary is poured, the smart washing machine will immediately detect this and use only a limited amount. As a result, part of the cleaning agent may not be used.
- Clogged supply channel. Often, laundry powder is used without prior cleaning of the drawer and the supply channel for the cleaning agent. As a result, powder residues can settle at the bottom and penetrate into the supply channel, clogging it. For this reason, it is recommended to clean the entire system that supplies the cleaning agent at least once every two months. This applies not only to the drawer itself but also to the powder supply channel.
- Insufficient water pressure. Water pressure in the plumbing can sometimes fluctuate. If it significantly decreases, the water supplied to the washing machine may have insufficient pressure to fully rinse the cleaning agent from the drum. Increasing water pressure on your own is impossible, so it is better to stop the wash and contact your management company for clarification. Once the pressure normalizes, you can resume washing.
- Inability to fully close the pressure valve. This often happens in apartments built during the Soviet era. The shut-off valve may rust and not open completely. As a result, water pressure will be insufficient for full rinsing of the laundry powder. In this case, the shut-off valve can be repaired independently or by calling plumbers.
- Malfunction of the filling hose. It may be simply pinched or twisted. Check its condition – this problem can be easily fixed independently.
- Clogged mesh valve in the water supply system. This valve is usually used for filtering the supplied water. As a result, its cells can become clogged with debris, and calcium deposits can also settle on them. The simplest solution is to rinse the mesh valve under strong hot water pressure. You can also clean the cells manually; it is recommended to perform this procedure at least twice a year.
- Washing was performed in several stages. During this process, the washing machine may operate for a long time. If you do not clean the powder supply drawer during several laundry loads, it can become clogged and not fully supply the loaded powder. This issue can be easily resolved by wiping the drawer and cleaning the supply channel.
