AirJet to replace laptop coolers in 2023

At CES 2023, startup Frore Systems showcased the AirJet active cooling system for mobile devices. The device is aimed at replacing air fans that are installed in laptops to cool the processor. Interestingly, the manufacturer did not present a concept, but a fully working mechanism.

The implementation of the device is extremely simple - membranes are installed inside the solid structure, which are capable of vibrating at high frequencies. Thanks to these vibrations, a powerful air flow is created, the direction of which can be changed. In the section of the AirJet shown, the system is used to remove hot air from the processor. The contour of the structure is semi-closed. But no one forbids making a through system for pumping air masses.

Several devices were used to test the AirJet system: a compact and gaming laptop, as well as a game console. Testing showed efficiency against classic coolers by as much as 25%. Another point, under high load, the processor does not reduce the frequency of its cores to avoid overheating.

 

At the exhibition, a powerful laptop Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro was taken as a demonstration device. which has been modernized. With a smaller footprint, the AirJet system installed without problems. In addition, it was possible to install as many as 4 membrane structures on one processor at the same time. What affected the efficiency of the work.

Startup Frore Systems has already become interested in corporations Intel and Qualcomm. The release of the first commercial AirJet devices is scheduled for the spring of 2023. How they will be implemented, the manufacturer does not specify. Most likely, the cooling system will become a component of a mobile device and will not reach the masses.
