News received from Kazakhstan shocked archaeologists from all over the world. Such discoveries are dreamed of by every treasure hunter, not to mention black diggers. In the Tarbagatay district of Kazakhstan, during the excavation of the Eleke Sazy kurgan, archaeologists discovered gold items.
It is noteworthy that mass media, without understanding what was happening, announced to the whole world that the gold found in the kurgan is dated to the 7th-8th century BC.
Laughing at the miracle writers, archaeologists clarified that human remains in clothing were also found in the burial. As well as household items, which indicated the approximate century of the burial.
Archaeological excavations of a kurgan in Kazakhstan: gold items
According to the head of the excavations, archaeologist Zainolla Samashev, the people buried were ruling persons. Presumably – a man and a woman, belonging to the elite of the Saka society. Among the jewelry found in the kurgan, there are women’s jewelry. Bell earrings, necklaces with gemstones, plates with rivets. Equipment made of pure gold for horses also led archaeologists to assume that the burial belonged to noble persons.
Experts note that in the 7th-8th centuries BC, the people inhabiting the current territory of Kazakhstan had advanced technologies. For example, manufacturing some gold jewelry without microscopic soldering was impossible. Accordingly, optics and metallurgy were well developed. Naturally, questions arose among archaeologists regarding the history of nomadic peoples of Central Asia.
