An interesting collaboration is presented by a cool Japanese brand specializing in electronic watches and Japanese surfer Kanoa Igarashi. The G-LIDE series of Casio G-SHOCK watches has been supplemented with a unique model GBX-100KI-1ER. The announced price of the new product is $270. The sales launch is scheduled for November 5, 2021.
Casio and Kanoa Igarashi – the right thematic approach
It may seem strange that the Japanese company Casio decided to take such a step. After all, the brand is doing very well, and surfing is not as popular worldwide as other sports. But it was Kanoa Igarashi who managed to radically change the design of the watches, making them stand out from all other gadgets in the G-LIDE series.
The main goal of this union was to increase the informativeness of the watch. The presence of a tide diagram is very valuable information for surfers. The more accurate data, the better. In terms of functionality, it turned out very high quality and beautiful. The Casio GBX-100KI-1ER watch has a Bluetooth module for synchronization with a smartphone.
In addition to tides, the watch informs about moon phases, can determine the distance traveled, and assists in training. But such functionality no longer surprises anyone. Therefore, the focus was on design. And the Japanese managed to create exclusive watches.
It is pleasing that the Casio watches are designed in a strict style – no color inserts or backlights. Fully black watches have light inclusions along the contour of the screen. The text is displayed in white. On the glass and bezel, there is an image of Kanoa Igarashi surfing in a wave crest. On the strap and back cover – the surfer’s original autograph. The number 50 on the strap’s lug is the participant’s number. At the WSL Championship Tour, Kanoa was represented under this number.
