In this model, Topping has abandoned the use of AKM and ESS chips. Instead, it uses two pairs of CS43198 chips from Cirrus Logic. The result is a balanced circuit implementation. Thanks to the full 8 channels working in parallel, high performance has been achieved. It looks like this:
- Non-linear distortion coefficient: no more than 0.0001% (1kHz).
- Signal-to-noise ratio: about 120 dB (1kHz).
- Dynamic range: 128 dB (1kHz).
The device has an output voltage of 2Vrms and 4Vrms for unbalanced and balanced outputs, respectively. It also features a low noise level, less than 0.9uVrms and 1.1uVrms. These parameters characterize the D30Pro well as a preamplifier for active acoustics.
Advantages of Topping D30PRO
One of the main advantages of D30Pro is the presence of a CPLD. This is a programmable logic integrated circuit. Its purpose is to combat jitter by processing clock pulses and subsequent signal optimization. The effectiveness of this solution has been confirmed by both the device developers and independent experts.
USB connection is provided by the XMOS XU208 controller. It has a custom Thesycon driver, supports Hi-Res (PCM 32bit/384kHz and DSD256), and ASIO. Windows 7 (and above) and macOS systems do not require driver installation. They can operate on a Plug and Play basis.
The included remote control allows not only volume adjustment but also selecting the active input and output. This is very convenient when connecting multiple devices to D30Pro.
