The gaming laptop has a strict design. The body is mostly plastic. However, the keyboard panel and cooling system inserts are aluminum. This approach solves two problems at once – cooling and light weight. For a device with a 16-inch screen, 2.5 kg is very convenient. A metal body would weigh under 5 kilograms. And this would negatively affect cooling. Additionally, inside the case, a powerful cooling system with two turbines and copper plates is installed. Overheating is definitely not an issue.
The screen features an IPS matrix with a 165 Hz refresh rate. It is pleasing that the manufacturer did not install a 4K display, sticking to the classic – 2560×1600. This means a more powerful graphics card is not required for demanding games. Also, on a 16-inch screen, 2K and 4K images are hardly noticeable. The screen lid opens to 140 degrees. The hinges are reinforced and durable. However, this does not prevent opening the lid with one hand.
The full keyboard includes a numeric keypad. Gaming control keys (W, A, S, D) have LED backlighting. The keyboard itself has RGB adjustable backlight. The keys are mechanical, with a 1.5 mm travel, and do not rattle. For complete happiness, additional functional keys are missing. The touchpad is large and supports multi-touch.
The internal device of the Thunderobot Zero laptop will delight all owners. Upgrading (replacing RAM or SSD) is easy by removing the bottom cover. The cooling system is not hidden under the boards – easy to clean, for example, by blowing compressed air. The protective cover itself has numerous ventilation holes (like a colander). High legs ensure airflow for the cooling system.
The battery life of the laptop on a single charge is weak. The built-in battery has a capacity of 63 Wh. For such a powerful platform, at maximum brightness, it lasts up to 2 hours. But there is a nuance. If you reduce the brightness to 200 cd/m2, the autonomy significantly increases. For gaming – one and a half times, for browsing the internet and multimedia – 2-3 times.
