In Egypt, scientists have uncovered the secret of mummification. At least, researchers, during recent excavations of a 30-meter shaft, managed to discover a workshop. In the workshop, they found wooden and stone sarcophagi. Determining how mummies were made in ancient Egypt will be the task of experts.
It is possible that some artifacts will appear at auctions soon.
According to scientists, the mummy-making workshop is two and a half thousand years old. The workshop is located in a necropolis near ancient Memphis, in the settlement of Sakkara. In addition to the workshop, researchers discovered a mass burial site. It is assumed that the find is a brotherly tomb where Persians buried their warriors. After all, between 664 and 404 BC, it was the Persians who ruled Egypt.

Items used in embalming were found in the mummy-making workshop. Fragments of sarcophagi and masks also indicate the presence of a workshop. Researchers were interested in an artifact – a gilded burial mask worn by individuals close to the pharaohs.
Scientists suggest that in clay jars, as well as faience and clay cups found at the excavation site, the Egyptians stored the organs of mummies. Researchers plan to study the finds and transfer them to the Great Egyptian Museum.
