By the end of 2019, an updated version of the Land Rover Defender 2020 SUV is expected to hit the market. Photos of the vehicle have already appeared online. Compared to the previous version, the car looks much more elegant.
Land Rover Defender is an SUV with a 70-year history. The first vehicle rolled off the assembly line in 1948. There is no driver in the world who does not know the Land Rover brand. It is one of the few vehicles that can confidently be called an all-terrain vehicle. For Land Rover, there are no obstacles.
Land Rover Defender 2020: Testing
Currently, the manufacturer is testing the new SUV in all corners of the globe. Photos leaked online show the Land Rover Defender driving across the African desert, demonstrating its class on mountain switchbacks, and overcoming meter-high snowdrifts.
After such tests, the new model won’t need advertising. The completed tests serve as excellent evidence for future owners dreaming of a true off-road vehicle.
Judging by the exterior, the manufacturer has not abandoned the square shape of the Land Rover Defender 2020. Only, following automotive fashion, the fenders and bumper have received slight rounding. The spare wheel attached to the rear door remains.
The technical specifications of the vehicle are still unknown. One thing is clear: the SUV will be produced at a new plant in Slovakia. The series production is expected to start in early 2020.
There are rumors that the Land Rover Defender will be released with a gasoline engine. It might be a hybrid with an electric drive. But definitely not diesel. Europe is rapidly moving away from polluting diesel engines.
