Always amazed by their advanced IT technologies, two Korean brands – Samsung and LG. Samsung is ahead of the curve – patents, concepts, implementation, discounts, gifts, and everything circles back. And LG is like a steamboat, sailing along, copying trends, occasionally releasing something of their own. Here’s another example – LG XBOOM Go PL7. A portable speaker that has similarities to gadgets from 2017-2019. What’s the trick – unclear.

Who might be interested in buying LG XBOOM Go PL7
Fans of the LG brand, who do not care about portable speakers from JBL, might enjoy it. Because together with the Koreans, a prestigious English brand Meridian worked on creating the acoustics. Known as one of the best manufacturers and assemblers of Hi-Fi and Hi-End equipment.
There is only one question for both manufacturers – which components in the LG XBOOM Go PL7 are made and installed by Meridian technicians. We really want to see the British brand’s markings on the speakers or the circuit board when disassembling the portable speaker. From what we can believe – the presence of Dolby license and Meridian Lossless Packing support.
LG XBOOM Go PL7 – lost in time
The gadget market with such simple specifications has long been saturated. In the low and mid-price segments, devices from JBL are firmly established. The mid and high-end segments belong to brands like Bang & Olufsen, Sonos, Marshall. Even Apple has a luxurious solution. Each gadget has its features – power, sound quality, light show, DLNA. It’s unclear what’s special about the LG XBOOM Go PL7. The portable speaker was supposed to appear in 2018 at the latest. But not in November 2020.
Undoubtedly, the LG XBOOM Go PL7 speaker is not worth its money. It is unfinished: poor protection, few functions. Plus, the manufacturer did not specify the Bluetooth version anywhere. It’s hard for Koreans to admit that in 2020 they installed a Bluetooth 4.1 or 4.2 module. Maybe Meridian is just a word printed on the box and plastic case of the device. Undoubtedly, LG XBOOM Go PL7 is a strange purchase at the end of 2020.
