An interesting post on Twitter was made by Marvel on June 16, 2019. An image of a spider web in the shape of the number 4 with a photo of a gray spider in the middle evoked positive emotions among all comic book fans. Could there be a continuation – Spider-Man 4.
Recall that Sony Pictures, after the release of the third Spider-Man film, announced that there would be no continuation. Firstly, due to low box office performance. Secondly, because there was no script. But here is such an interesting picture.
Spider-Man 4: Reboot
The tweet with the web-shaped number 4 from Marvel’s page disappeared after 8 hours of posting. However, new photos appeared on social media. Comic illustrator Alex Ross posted a photo of Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man and added the hashtag “Spider-Man 4”. Then, a picture of Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane appeared.
The editor-in-chief of Marvel (K.B. Sebulski) wrote that it was time to release a new comic, rather than dwell on heroes that are worn out by time. It’s unclear what exactly the editor meant. But Americans are convinced that it’s about the “old song” of the author, regarding increasing the number of heroes in one comic. Seven to ten people with superpowers — that’s so great. According to fans’ comments, Spider-Man 4 would be much more interesting than something new and unexplored.
