TV-BOX H96 MAX (on RK3566 chip) with Bluetooth remote control

A Chinese TV set-top box manufacturer, VONTAR, has embarked on the development of a new and productive RK3566 chip. The first, in a series with an updated processor, was the TV-BOX H96 MAX series. The gadget has good declared characteristics and a convenient price.

The design of the set-top box vaguely resembles the Nvidia Shield TV Pro (there is a triangular area with a texture on the edge of the TV-BOX). The manufacturer installed an LCD on the side and even made an interesting LED backlight on the case. The build quality is not bad, but the cooling is strangely implemented.

 

Advantages of TV-BOX H96 MAX

Disadvantages of TV-BOX H96 MAX

 

• Illumination on the body, unpleasant for the eyes (low quality LEDs).
• Poor cooling system. The prefix heats up to 82 degrees Celsius.
• The 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi standard does not work with all routers.
• No HDR support at all (although stated).
• The air mouse in the remote control does not work well.
• You cannot adjust the settings for the image displayed on the TV.
• No ROOT rights.
• There is no autoframe.
• Incorrect work with torrents online (files over 20 GB lead to the braking of the console).
• Does not support 8K video decoding (although stated by the manufacturer).
