Ukrainian athlete, Alexander Yastrebov, competing in the welterweight category – up to 63 kilograms, secured first place and won gold, confirming his status as a world kickboxing champion. This was announced by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which was the first to thank the athlete and congratulate him on the high award.
A soldier from the Ukrainian special forces has repeatedly demonstrated his achievements in contact sports according to WTKA in the “low-kick” style, but the victory at the World Championship held in the Italian town of Marina di Carrara showcased the athlete’s excellent preparation. It is worth recalling that Ukrainian athletes are well known among foreign colleagues. Alexander Usyk, Vladimir Klichko, Viktor Postol, and many other well-known athletes are still among the current world champions.
Soon, another Ukrainian professional, Vyacheslav Shabranets, will try to take the gold from Russian boxer Sergey Kovalov. The World Boxing Organization (WBO) heavyweight championship is scheduled for November 25 of this year at the small arena of Madison Square Garden in New York.
