4K Realme TV with SLED Display

The monopoly of Korean giants (Samsung and LG) in the production of high-quality televisions has come to an end. The Chinese conglomerate BBK Electronics, under one of its brands, has released a television with a new and very high-quality matrix to the market. The 4K Realme TV with SLED display delivers images better than QLED and OLED displays. And this is already a confirmed fact. Which means that today or tomorrow, a revolution is expected in the television market. Either industry giants will come to an agreement with the new player, or we will face a grand drop in electronics prices.

4K Realme TV with SLED Display: Features

Let’s start with the fact that the SLED technology was developed within BBK Electronics and patented by the Chinese brand. With its own facilities, the company is capable of independently manufacturing televisions and releasing them under its own brand – Realme.

According to the company’s technologist, John Roymans, the principle of SLED operation is quite simple. Instead of blue backlighting used in QLED panels, RGB backlighting is implemented. This effectively kills two birds with one stone – increases color gamut coverage and reduces the harmful impact of blue light on viewers’ eyesight. The effectiveness of the first advantage is questionable (color gamut increases by only 8%). However, the reduction of eye fatigue after prolonged viewing has been proven through experience. Considering the affordable prices of the Chinese brand’s products, it is expected that the new 4K Realme TV with SLED display will be available in the budget segment.

The gadget’s price has not yet been announced. It is only known that the first viewers will be residents of India. For the Indian market, the Chinese have already created and launched an advertising video. The video shows a 55-inch TV with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels per inch.
