What is Apple being accused of?
One of the most well-known cases is from a resident of New Jersey in 2019. The plaintiff accused Apple of setting her apartment on fire, which resulted in the death of her father. The statement says that a faulty iPad battery caused a fire inside the residence. By the way, the housing complex owner also filed a lawsuit against Apple.
In 2021, already in Philadelphia, the plaintiff sued the manufacturer of the iPad tablet, which caused an entire house to burn down. The insurance company paid out $142,000. But the victim decided to seek moral compensation from Apple.
What are the prospects for legal proceedings?
It is important to understand one point here. As soon as Apple satisfies at least one lawsuit and pays monetary compensation, the company could face millions of additional lawsuits. Therefore, Apple’s lawyers simply ignore these court claims. It is even easier for Apple to pay a fine for such attitude towards the law.
