Another action-adventure has been announced on Stream. This time, ATOM RPG aims to attract role-playing game enthusiasts to its side. Again, like in the famous S.T.A.L.K.E.R., the plot unfolds in 1986. Only, instead of developers blowing up a nuclear power plant in Ukraine, they started a full-scale World War III between the USSR and Europe. The events in the game begin 19 years later.
Recently, more attention has been paid to the stalker theme. On one hand, games are being released; on the other hand, series and movies related to radiation, anomalies, and nuclear power plants. While waiting for a miracle, fans of post-apocalyptic themes are trying to find a replacement for the old S.T.A.L.K.E.R. engine.
As for the new release, the AI implementation is commendable. Interacting with locals in the locations does not resemble talking to bots. The plot is built around the character’s relationships and keeps the player engaged. It’s pleasant to see realistic heroes who resemble real people. There are politicians, bandits, intellectuals, teachers, and other colorful characters encountered in real life. The game features intriguing quests that end unpredictably, which attracts players’ attention. Fans of role-playing games will enjoy the storyline.
