No matter how car enthusiasts call the Daewoo Matiz a “women’s car,” fans of the South Korean brand will not stop insisting that, in terms of price-quality ratio, this small car has no competitors. Therefore, the news about the discontinuation of this popular vehicle disappointed buyers.
The management of General Motors believed that the model had outlived its usefulness. Starting from 1997, the car underwent dozens of upgrades. Over 21 years, the Daewoo Matiz received a body restyling, a liter engine, and an automatic transmission. The result for the buyer was always the same: an affordable, low-cost, fuel-efficient, and reliable vehicle.
Representatives of the company quickly assured buyers who signed supply agreements for the Daewoo Matiz in 2018 that the terms of the deal would be fully honored and completed on time.
Daewoo Matiz – the best small car in the CIS
What makes the Matiz special? Its appearance is non-standard, yet the car is quite spacious. The five-door hatchback is designed for 4 seats but can easily accommodate 5-7 passengers. With an engine volume of 0.8-1 liters, the Daewoo Matiz demonstrates excellent maneuverability in the city and is ready to compete on the highway with similar small cars and “classics.”
The ground clearance of 14 centimeters is not the best indicator for a city car. However, it is sufficient to get over a curb when parking by the roadside. The 35-liter fuel tank may make buyers smile, but with a fuel consumption of 6-8 liters per hundred kilometers, questions about efficiency are eliminated.
