Qualcomm SoC Snapdragon 888
The manufacturer did not go into much detail about the technical capabilities of the new product. They decided to keep the most “delicious” for later. Only a few details are known:
- Full support for 5G technology. It will feature the X60 modem, operating in FTD and TDD spectrums. Devices with the Qualcomm SoC Snapdragon 888 chip will be able to operate at 6 GHz frequency. This provides a significant increase in data transfer speed.
- The new graphics system will not only work faster but also transmit images in better quality. The chip’s performance is expected to be 35% faster than Snapdragon. Support for 144 Hz screens will be added. Plus, cameras will finally be able to shoot videos in 4K at 120 FPS.
Which Devices Will Feature Qualcomm SoC Snapdragon 888
The partnership agreement for supplying new chips includes 14 brands:
- BlackShark.
- Motorola.
- Sharp (Foxconn).
- Meizu.
And it’s not hard to guess which manufacturer will be the first to get the Qualcomm SoC Snapdragon 888 chip. Recently, the head of Xiaomi announced that the next new product is coming – Xiaomi Mi 11. Undoubtedly, the flagship of the Chinese brand will receive the top-tier chip. There’s no need to doubt that. The flagship series of smartphones Xiaomi Mi is very interesting for the manufacturer.
The only point that requires clarification is the price of smartphones with the Snapdragon 888 chipset. Media reports suggest that, proportionally to the increase in chip performance, the cost of the board will also rise. Consequently, the price of smartphones will sharply increase.
