But they are not rushing to equip mobile devices (promising the new product no earlier than 2020). By the way, Samsung has taken on manufacturing. But that’s not the point. Gaming enthusiasts on smartphones are interested in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus crystal.

The updated processor is designed for 5G networks and high-performance gaming. The feature of 855+ is factory overclocking. Finally, overclocking has reached mobile processors.

The crystal consists of a set of different cores, each assigned to specific tasks.

  • One Kryo 485 core. Based on ARM Cortex A76 and operating at up to 3 GHz;
  • Three Kryo 485 cores operating at up to 2.4 GHz;
  • Four Kryo 385 cores (based on ARM Cortex A55) running at 1.8 GHz.

All this “mix” promises users a performance boost in games of about 15-20%. The efficiency varies for each application, as platform and driver considerations are taken into account.

In addition to the central processor, overclocking was also performed for the graphics core. The Adreno 640 GPU chip now operates at 672 MHz (was 585 MHz). The Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor will support 5G networks and Wi-Fi 6.
