In fact, this laptop is a representative of the lower range of business devices. The combination of Core i5, 15.6-inch IPS display, and 8-16 GB RAM with a solid-state drive is the classic minimum for such equipment. Similar gadgets are available from more popular brands: Acer, ASUS, MSI, HP. Moreover, with the same price tag. And it’s fair to say that Tecno’s new product does not offer any special privileges. Additionally, the above competitors have their own offices in over 100 countries worldwide. Tecno is limited to a dozen. And this is clearly not in favor of the Chinese brand.
However, there is one interesting feature – the possibility of future upgrades. Yes, competitors also allow changing RAM and storage. But Tecno approached the upgrade question more seriously:
- The motherboard supports all 10th generation Intel processors, including the top-tier i7.
- The soldering of the processor is simplified to the maximum – any specialist can replace the crystal.
- The motherboard has an additional M.2 2280 slot.
- The total RAM capacity limit is 128 GB.
- The matrix connection is 30-pin, supporting any display type (Full HD).
In other words, after 3-5 years of operation, the laptop can be upgraded with available spare parts on the market. And the motherboard will not limit anyone in this process. The main thing is that it simply works at the time of upgrade.
Advantages and Disadvantages of the Tecno Megabook T1 Laptop
A well-designed cooling system is a clear advantage for such a powerful laptop. Despite the energy efficiency of the chip, it still heats up under load. The cores heat up to approximately 70 degrees Celsius. The active cooling system helps reduce the temperature to 35 degrees. Plus, the aluminum body dissipates heat. However, in summer, in 40-degree heat, this may have the opposite effect. But all users know that with a metal case, you shouldn’t sit outdoors under the blazing sun.
Yes, the Tecno Megabook T1 is designed for the business segment. The processor and memory handle all tasks. However, the integrated core limits the laptop’s use for gaming. The video core does not boast high performance. Therefore, even for the most modest games, this laptop is not suitable.
But it is equipped with a decent 70 Wh battery. This adds weight to the device but increases autonomy. Without reducing screen brightness (300 nits), it can operate up to 11 hours. For comparison, the HP G7 with the same processor lasts about 7 hours. This is a clear advantage.
