The aspect ratio of the 16: 9 screen is no longer relevant

CES 2021 showed one interesting trend. Laptop and monitor manufacturers completely ignored the 16: 9 aspect ratio. And this is very strange, because this ratio fits exactly into 1080p (1920 × 1080) frames. Cameras and camcorders are adjusted to this size. And sites with TVs.

At CES, monitors and laptops were showcased with aspect ratios of 3: 2, 16:10, 32:10, and 32: 9. The products were presented by such well-known brands as:

 

• HP (Elite Folio Laptop, 1920 x 1280, 3: 2).
• Dell (Latitude 9420 laptop, 2560 x 1600, 16:10).
• LG (notebooks Gram 17 and Gram 16, 2650 x 1600, 16:10).
• Asus (ROG Flow X13 laptop, 3840 x 2400, 16:10).
• MSI.
• Lenovo.
• Razer.

Where is this all going and how to be users

 

Considering the fact that Samsung has been producing widescreen monitors and laptops for several years in a row, a lot becomes clear. Manufacturers believe that square displays have no desktop space. The aspect ratio on the screen is 16: 9 - the next trend of fashion, no more.

I really want to hope that in the old 4: 3 or 5: 4 format something will remain. Since squares are convenient for working with text and graphics for many people. Especially those who install 2-3 monitors on the table for ease of use.
