The presentation of Intel’s new chipsets and processors was held on time. Only the industry giant provided a working product. Dozens of testing laboratories and enthusiasts unanimously announced the inefficiency of DDR5 memory. And this means that we need to wait a little while until the manufacturer finds a flaw in the system and fixes its errors.
Processors for Socket 1700 are available, but no effect
Regarding the new Alder Lake family chips, IT specialists have no questions for the manufacturer. Tests conducted solely on core performance demonstrate high productivity. And AMD fans can forget about it, even with overclocked processors. But in terms of processor-memory efficiency, there is no comparison with DDR4. And this is already a subtle hint that we can expect motherboards with Socket 1700 v2.
Considering the lack of mounting brackets for CPU cooling systems for Socket 1700 from many brands, it might be better to wait. Perhaps by early 2022, the situation with DDR5 memory operation will be resolved. And there is no point in buying an updated Intel platform with DDR4 now. It’s simply unreasonable. Better to endure 2-3 months and buy working hardware at a moderate price.
