TV BOX V9 PRO: review
When you first get acquainted with the console, a sticker on the case - Core 8 Box catches your eye. And immediately questions arise. The Amlogic S912 chip has six cores (according to technology). The Mali-450 video adapter also has 6 cores. What the sticker is for and what it means is unclear. But! Aida64 application defines 8 Cores. Which looks very strange.
The second surprise is the version of the Android operating system. Instead of the declared version 7.1.2, on board the Android 6.0 console. Such deception obviously will not deliver the user joy.
This is not to say that the trotting test failed, but the acceleration of the temperature of the BOX V9 PRO TV to 80 degrees Celsius in just 5 minutes caused not very pleasant impressions. Okay, 70, but not 80! Of the positive aspects - the console is able to independently reset the processor frequency when overheating. It’s a pity you can’t fine-tune this reset. Root rights are not available to the user.
The lack of a USB 3.0 interface affected the inefficiency of the TV box to play 4K movies from external drives. Random reading is 4.5 MB / s and sequential reading is 33 MB / s. That is, one and a half hour films in UHD, larger than 35 GB, the set-top box will not be able to play even from the SSD drive, if the information is recorded separately. There is only one solution - delete everything from the disk and write a movie sequentially.
The network features of the console are poor. Well, the wired interface does the job well. But wireless modules cause negative.

TV BOXING V9 PRO: multimedia
Surprisingly, with an SSD drive, a 4K movie with 60FPS prefix plays. Moreover, large files (50-70 GB). Only there is no HDR. It picks up a good TV box and rewind. No freezes detected.
Owners of speakers and receivers can forget about high-quality sound. The prefix is not able to forward a signal. Movies in different players display Logic 7 move, which causes a negative.
And even YouTube in 4K @ 60FPS TV BOX V9 PRO could not master. The video drops, and the image itself is displayed in the middle of the screen in the form of a square. And interestingly, there were no problems with IPTV and torrents. Let the prefix warm up to 81 degrees Celsius, but the video did not slow down or disappear.
As a result, a budget device is simply not worth the money. On the same Amlogic S912 chip there is a wonderful TV box Tanix TX9S. And at the same price. Sense of buying a non-working V9 PRO prefix on Android 6.0?
