Why sellers lie to buyers is unknown.
ZIDOO Z10 TV Box: Exercise Caution
First, it’s important to understand that this is a full-featured media center. With a matching set of functions and equally large dimensions. The TV box cannot be hidden behind the TV. It is a server that requires a dedicated installation space with proper cooling. Otherwise, the device will not operate correctly.
For full NAS server functionality, an UPS is recommended—though it’s possible to operate without one. But the nature of any server is such that power outages caused by accidental disconnection can lead to disk damage. Since the TV box runs on OpenWRT (Linux), this is critical for hardware and software. Despite hundreds of owners claiming otherwise, the TeraNews team, with extensive experience working with Linux-based servers and NAS, strongly recommends using an UPS with this device.
If you do not utilize the server capabilities of the set-top box, there is no point in buying it at all. For just $80-$100, you can get a Beelink GT King or Ugoos AM6 Plus. These provide maximum convenience for content playback and gaming. This is important to know before purchasing. Otherwise, the buyer will simply waste money.
Brief Overview of ZIDOO Z10
This is truly a powerful TV box. Starting with the hardware that ensures performance, to the ports and a great interface for easy app management. All languages are supported. For Android 7, which might seem like a weak link in the device, there are hundreds of interesting settings. These include video options, sound output to receivers, and various configurations to ensure content playback quality.
OpenWRT system can be configured remotely via a browser, similar to routers. If the user has experience with manual setup, launching the server will be straightforward. Others will need to study the instructions. Fortunately, the developers have made everything clear and user-friendly.
Content playback from any source is fast and reliable. IPTV, torrent, YouTube—excellent playback quality. Even large files (up to 100 GB) pose no problem.
Overheating is not an issue for Realtek chips with active cooling. Performance drops are not observed in tests. The processor heats up to about 70 degrees Celsius.
Network interfaces work perfectly. The gigabit port and Wi-Fi are well-designed, which is pleasing.
A nice feature is the ability to remap functions to remote control buttons. The ZIDOO Z10 TV box is convenient in every aspect—nothing to criticize. Interestingly, the device supports 3D and can convert images in both directions. The player is excellent overall. It’s a dream device for those seeking maximum convenience in one unit.
