At the Le Mans racing track, a public premiere of the highly anticipated BMW brand’s new model is planned. It concerns the 8 Series coupe. Notably, journalists received images of the Bavarian car long before the presentation.
BMW 8 Coupe – New Model of 2018
According to experts, the car resembles previous 6 Series models. At least, the exterior design and dimensions are identical. Journalists also found out that the chassis of the BMW 8 Coupe is a modified version of the fifth series sedan. The exact specifications of the car are not available to journalists.
The CEO of BMW, Harald Krüger, expects an increase in sales of the new model and is confident that the BMW 8 Coupe will enhance the brand’s image.
Fans expect the new model to feature 4-liter V6 and V8 engines in their respective price categories. An extreme version of the BMW M8 is also not excluded. Additionally, representatives of the German brand promised that over time, a convertible and a four-door Gran Coupe version are planned for release. By the way, the M8 Gran Coupe concept was showcased at the Geneva Motor Show in 2018.
The situation with hybrids is unclear. The BMW 8 Coupe is designed for battery modules, but there have been no statements from the company.
The expected release date of the 8 Series new model from the assembly line is the end of 2018. The starting price of the BMW 8 Coupe begins at 70,000 euros. For residents of Germany, extreme modifications of the eighth series will not exceed a price of 115 thousand euros.
