The USB Type-C 2.1 standard is here to stay. The patented technology from 2019 has been logically implemented. Although many manufacturers claimed that instead of Type-C version 2.1, we would see the next generation USB Type-D. USB Type-C 2.1 Cable – Features
Currently, the market offers only one solution – Club3D USB Type-C 2.1 cables in 1 and 2 meters lengths. The manufacturer claims support for:
- Transmission of up to 240 W of electrical power through the cable.
- Data transfer at ultra-high speeds (40 Gbps for the 1-meter cable and 20 Gbps for the 2-meter cable). There is also a budget option with data transfer at 480 Mbps.
It is important to note that working with such cables requires a power supply of appropriate capacity. The brand Club3D offers a 132 W power supply. Xiaomi has 120-watt chargers available. Plus, not all smartphones support such high power levels for their batteries. But since there is a cable, we will soon see a compatible power supply and smartphone designed for it.
