Who would have thought that the Korean electronics giant specializing in budget electronics could present a worthy solution for fans of fast-paced games. Not only surprising with its design and functionality, but also with picture quality at a reasonable price. The gaming monitor LG 32GK650F-B, which we review here, deserves praise. Even though the device uses a VA matrix with terrible viewing angles. But that’s a minor detail, as gaming enthusiasts sit directly in front of the display – angles are not critical for them.

Gaming Monitor LG 32GK650F-B: Out of the Box Review
Admittedly, 32 inches is already a TV size. And I was very nervous about ordering the LG 32GK650F-B monitor from the store. But after unboxing, it turned out that the screen has very thin bezels (10 mm on each side). And in terms of dimensions, the monitor fit perfectly into the corner of the desk. Although initially, it was planned to mount it on the wall. But seeing the gorgeous legs for the monitor, I couldn’t resist setting it on the desk.
Visually, the bulky design is very lightweight. The LG 32GK650F-B gaming monitor weighs only 8 kilograms. So, it is mostly made of plastic. Even the legs and stand. For ergonomics, there is a cable holder on the back panel of the monitor. This is very convenient for organizing the workspace.
The assortment of video outputs and their standards is somewhat disappointing. Interface options include DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 2.0 (without letters). Additionally, there is no USB hub. And to further challenge advanced gamers, HDR support and speakers are absent. However, a DisplayPort cable is included in the kit.
Image Quality and Video Processing in LG 32GK650F-B
What makes VA matrices good is that they provide uniform and perfect black color. By the way, compared to IPS, VA matrices are designed for longer periods of use without losing image quality. About 8-10 years ago, Samsung established this brand. Its monitors still work well (only sometimes replacing capacitors in power supplies is needed).
With good brightness and contrast, there are some complaints about color accuracy. More specifically, about the color gamut. When working with graphics and printing color images on photo paper, discrepancies in shades are noticeable. Installing color profiles from the official LG website did not resolve the issue. There are no complaints in games – the LG 32GK650F-B gaming monitor performs excellently. We did not do a gaming review, as it’s clear that the device handles the display role perfectly.
By the way, having a DP cable in the kit is very convenient. Out of the box, the FreeSync technology at 144 Hz started working. And, you don’t even need an AMD graphics card. Our ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 3080 detected the monitor and enabled all its advanced technologies. For fun, we connected the monitor via HDMI to the graphics card – the refresh rate dropped to 100 Hz.
